Laura Lorenzon MD PhD is a post-doc researcher and adjunct Professor of Surgery at the Surgical and Medical Department of Traslational Medicine, Sant’Andrea Hospital, Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, “Sapienza” University of Rome.
She trained in Surgery at the Sant'Andrea Hospital of Rome and was a Clinical Fellow at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London in 2009.
Laura completed her PhD studies in early 2013 with a thesis aimed to Traslational Medicine and since then is a research enthusiast.
In 2014 she awarded a post-doc Fellowship position with the prominent Fondazione Veronesi with a project on microRNA in gastrointestinal (GI) oncology.
Her main area of interest is GI Surgical Oncology, with particular respect to colorectal cancer.
Her studies range from clinical to traslational investigations and a bioengineering implementation of the surgical devices.
In late 2016, Laura joined the British Journal of Surgery team with an Editorial Assistant position.
To date, she published more than 50 peer reviewed articles and has an IF>100. Of note, she is first/second or corresponding author of the vast majority of her publications.
Currently, Laura is EYSAC Research Delegate and EORTC member of the Colorectal Cancer and Traslational Research Group Task Forces.
